Carew Cheriton Control Tower Museum is open year round to pre-booked school and group visits.
Visits last approximately 2 1/2 hours and due to space restrictions groups should number no more than 30.
Visitors will learn the history of Carew airfield during both World Wars, browse an extensive range of artefacts in the museum, visit the restored Control Tower, sing wartime songs in the air raid shelter, try their hand at morse code and see the Avro Anson and other vehicles in our hangar.
Carew Cheriton Control Tower is a highly popular destination for schools, children’s and youth groups bringing history to life. The history of Carew Airfield during both World Wars is presented in a fun and engaging manner for Children of all ages.
The Control Tower is thoroughly enjoyable visit for many adult groups such as community groups, societies, Women’s Institute’s, coach trips and many other groups and clubs.
We have a large car park and free parking available for visitors. There is ample room for coaches and mini buses.
Due to space constraints groups should number no more than 30-35. Larger groups will require multiple visits.
The majority of the site is flat and easily accessible. Please be aware, there is one step in the control tower building, and some uneven surfaces in the hangar.
