Classic cars visit Wartime Airfield

Wartime museum, Carew Cheriton Control Tower, was the destination for Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club latest rally.

After assembling at Kilgetty a convoy of classic cars from across the county journeyed back in time to experience life in the 1940s at the former RAF base that played an important role in defending Allied shipping from German U-Boat attacks.

Ann Griffiths, Secretary of the Classic Car Club, said, “Everyone who came enjoyed themselves. This is a very popular place with schools who bring the children here to see and learn of their local history and show them how people lived during the war years. (I) would recommend this as a place to visit for anyone who is looking for somewhere different; it is an excellent day out.”
